I attended the Team1 Avalanche meetup, “Build with AI. Build on Blockchain,” hosted at Various Labs HQ—a welcoming evening of networking, discovery and conversation.
One of the highlights was speaking at length with André ‘Ems’ Phillip, the person behind Avalanche Team1. He shared plans to give founders in London a permanent place to build and grow: a dedicated co-working space at 22 Bishopsgate designed to support the city’s next wave of founders.
Community infrastructure matters—not just individual events, but permanent spaces where founders can keep building.
A welcoming room for builders
Zaki Qadus of Various Labs hosted the meetup at the organisation’s headquarters. The environment made it easy to connect with builders, founders and community members, while presentations from Lavinia D. Osbourne and Mariquita de Boissière created space for women working in a male-dominated field.
London’s founder community
The evening was a reminder that London’s founder community is becoming stronger and more connected. Technology may have been the theme, but the lasting impression was human: thoughtful hosts, generous conversations and a clear intention to make future opportunities accessible.
